Bareboat and crewed yachts from Phuket’s marinas.

Good to know

Phuket charter questions.

Do I need a licence to charter here?

For bareboat you’ll need a recognised sailing licence or equivalent experience. Skippered and crewed charters need nothing — the crew handles the boat.

What does a week cost?

It depends on the boat, season and crew level. Tell us your dates on WhatsApp and we’ll quote the live fleet — final price guaranteed, every cost named upfront.

Which airport do I fly into?

Phuket International (HKT) — most marinas are within an hour’s transfer.

Sailing from Phuket

Phuket is South-East Asia’s busiest charter hub for a reason: within a day’s sail you reach Phang Nga Bay’s limestone towers, the Phi Phi archipelago, the quiet Racha islands to the south and Railay’s climbing cliffs on the Krabi coast. Marinas on the island’s east side — Ao Po, Boat Lagoon, Royal Phuket Marina and Yacht Haven — put provisioning, fuel and an international airport within an hour of your berth.

When to sail

The Andaman season runs November to April: north-east monsoon, dry air, light seas and reliable 10–20 knot breezes. May to October brings the south-west monsoon — sailing continues in sheltered waters, with lower rates and afternoon squalls to plan around. Peak weeks (Christmas to mid-January) book out months ahead.

Routes worth a week

Classic seven-day loops run north into Phang Nga Bay for the hongs and a night at anchor under the karsts, then south through Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh to Koh Lanta, returning along the Krabi coast. Shorter three- and four-day itineraries cover Phang Nga or Phi Phi alone without a single long passage.
