01 · Overview
Yacht charter in Campania
Campania puts some of Italy's most famous coastline within a short sail: the cliffs and villages of the Amalfi Coast, the island of Capri, and the volcanic islands of Ischia and Procida. The towns are lively and the food is a reason to come on its own. Harbours are busy in summer, so booking a berth ahead helps.
02 · The sailing grounds
The sailing grounds
Marina d'Arechi in Salerno is the biggest base on our desk here, close to Amalfi, Positano and the Li Galli islets. Marina di Stabia at Castellammare sits at the foot of the Sorrento peninsula, and Procida's marina puts you between Ischia and the mainland. To the south, the Cilento coast around Agropoli is quieter. The Pontine islands, Ponza and Ventotene, are a longer passage north-west.
03 · Season and weather
Season and weather
May to October. Summer winds are usually moderate sea breezes. July and August are very busy around Capri and Amalfi; June and September are the sweet spot.

Ways to charter
Boats in Campania offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):
Bareboat (163 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.
Crewed (65 boats): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.
Skippered (21 boats): a professional skipper sails the boat with you, and you crew as much or as little as you like.
Flotilla (11 boats): you sail your own boat in a group, with a lead boat and crew on hand to help.
Day charter (7 boats): a single day on the water, usually with crew.
Cabin charter (1 boat): you book one cabin on a shared, crewed boat rather than the whole yacht.
Regatta (1 boat): boats prepared and entered for racing events.
