Yacht charter in St Martin

St Martin is shared between France and the Netherlands, and the French side, at Marigot, is where almost every boat on our desk here starts. It makes a good base for the northern Leeward Islands: beaches on Anguilla, chic Gustavia on St Barths and the steep volcanic islands of Saba and Statia.

Boats leave from Marina Fort Louis in Marigot. Anguilla is a short sail north, with clear water and offshore cays. St Barths is about 15 miles south-east, with good anchorages off Gustavia and Colombier. Saba and St Eustatius are longer passages, best in settled weather. Each island has its own customs formalities.

December to May is the main season. The hurricane season runs from June to November.

Boats in St Martin offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):

Bareboat (31 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.

Crewed (7 boats): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.

What a week costs

These prices are for the boat for seven nights, taken from the 2027 offers we hold in November 2026.

In August, the cheapest month for most boats here, a well-priced boat costs about €3,300 a week and the middle of the fleet about €4,000.

In April, the dearest month, the middle of the fleet costs about €7,000 a week.

The cheapest tenth of boats here start from about €3,100 a week, and the top tenth from about €18,500.

Fuel, marina fees, the final clean and any skipper are usually extra on bareboat yachts; crewed boats include their crew. Each boat page shows what its operator includes and the live price for your dates.

Boats start from Marina Fort Louis (35 boats), Marina de L'Anse Marcel (1 boat) and Rue de Sandy Ground (1 boat). Many boats can start on any day of the week, with Saturday the most common.

Getting there

Princess Juliana airport on the Dutch side has direct flights from North America and Europe. Marigot is about 20 minutes away.
