Yacht charter in Mexico

Mexico gives two very different charters on the Pacific side. From La Paz you sail among the desert islands of the Sea of Cortez, with sea lions, whale sharks in season and almost no other boats. From Puerto Vallarta, Banderas Bay is a large bay with whales in winter and lively towns ashore. Every boat on our desk here is a catamaran.

Marina CostaBaja in La Paz is the base for Espíritu Santo and Isla Partida, a protected area just north of the city with red cliffs and white beaches. Marina Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta is the base for Banderas Bay and the Marietas islands.

In La Paz, October to June is the main season; summer is very hot. Banderas Bay is best from November to April, when humpback whales are in the bay. The Pacific hurricane season runs from June to November.

Boats in Mexico offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):

Bareboat (7 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.

Crewed (6 boats): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.

Day charter (3 boats): a single day on the water, usually with crew.

These prices are for the boat for seven nights, taken from the 2027 offers we hold in November 2026.

In January, the cheapest month for most boats here, a well-priced boat costs about €4,900 a week and the middle of the fleet about €4,900.

In October, the dearest month, the middle of the fleet costs about €10,300 a week.

The cheapest tenth of boats here start from about €4,100 a week, and the top tenth from about €7,200.

Fuel, marina fees, the final clean and any skipper are usually extra on bareboat yachts; crewed boats include their crew. Each boat page shows what its operator includes and the live price for your dates.
