South of St Vincent runs the Grenadines, a string of small islands, with some of the best anchorages in the Caribbean. The Tobago Cays marine park, with its reef and turtles, is the highlight. Starting from St Vincent gives you the whole chain in a single week.

The sailing grounds

Boats start at Blue Lagoon on St Vincent's south coast and at Bequia. Bequia's Admiralty Bay is the first stop, then Mustique, Canouan and Mayreau. The Tobago Cays lie just east of Mayreau, and Union Island is the southern exit towards Carriacou and Grenada. The Tobago Cays park has fees and mooring rules.

December to May is the main season, with steady trade winds. The hurricane season runs from June to November.

Ways to charter

Boats in St Vincent and the Grenadines offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):

Bareboat (18 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.

Cabin charter (3 boats): you book one cabin on a shared, crewed boat rather than the whole yacht.

Crewed (1 boat): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.

Skippered (1 boat): a professional skipper sails the boat with you, and you crew as much or as little as you like.

These prices are for the boat for seven nights, taken from the 2027 offers we hold in November 2026.

In September, the cheapest month for most boats here, a well-priced boat costs about €3,100 a week and the middle of the fleet about €3,100.

In January, the dearest month, the middle of the fleet costs about €5,100 a week.

The cheapest tenth of boats here start from about €2,900 a week, and the top tenth from about €6,600.

Fuel, marina fees, the final clean and any skipper are usually extra on bareboat yachts; crewed boats include their crew. Each boat page shows what its operator includes and the live price for your dates.

Boats start from Blue Lagoon (17 boats) and Bequia Marina (6 boats). Many boats can start on any day of the week, with Saturday the most common.
