Yacht charter in Slovenia

Slovenia has only a short stretch of coast, but its marina at Izola is an easy drive from Central Europe and close to both Italy and Croatia. The fleet on our desk here is almost all sailing yachts for bareboat charter, at some of the lower weekly prices on the Adriatic. It suits a week that takes in Piran, Trieste and the Istrian coast.

Boats start at Marina Izola. Piran, on the tip of the Slovenian coast, is a short sail away. Trieste lies across the gulf in Italy, and Croatia's Istrian towns of Umag, Novigrad, Poreč and Rovinj are within a day or two to the south. Check the entry rules with the base before crossing borders.

May to early October. Summer brings light sea breezes; the bura can blow hard from the north-east, especially around Trieste.

We list about 30 boats in Slovenia from 2 charter companies. The fleet is sailing yachts (97%) and catamarans (3%). Half the boats were built in 2014 or later, and the typical boat is about 38 ft long with 3 cabins. The most common models here are the Salona 38, Dufour 350 and Sun Odyssey 37.

Ways to charter

Boats in Slovenia offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):

Bareboat (31 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.

Regatta (2 boats): boats prepared and entered for racing events.

Crewed (1 boat): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.

These prices are for the boat for seven nights, taken from the 2027 offers we hold in November 2026.

The cheapest tenth of boats here start from about €1,200 a week, and the top tenth from about €2,800.

Fuel, marina fees, the final clean and any skipper are usually extra on bareboat yachts; crewed boats include their crew. Each boat page shows what its operator includes and the live price for your dates.

Getting there

Trieste airport is under an hour away and Ljubljana about 1.5 hours. Venice is about 2.5 hours by road.
