Yacht charter in Catalonia

Catalonia's coast runs from the beaches south of Barcelona to the rugged Cap de Creus near France. It has one of the strongest day-charter offers on our desk, so it suits a day on the water from the city as well as a full week. The Costa Brava's small coves and fishing villages are the main draw for longer trips.

Barcelona's Port Olímpic and Port Vell, Port Ginesta at Castelldefels and Port d'Aiguadolç at Sitges are the bases near the city. In the north, Roses and the Costa Brava clubs put you close to Cadaqués and the Cap de Creus natural park. The Medes islands off L'Estartit are a protected marine reserve.

May to October. Sea breezes are usual in summer. The tramontana can blow hard from the north around Cap de Creus.

The fleet on our desk

We list about 30 boats in Catalonia from 11 charter companies. The fleet is sailing yachts (45%), motor yachts and motorboats (27%), catamarans (24%) and gulets (3%). Half the boats were built in 2016 or later, and the typical boat is about 40 ft long with 3 cabins. The most common models here are the Lucia 40, Bali 4.2 and TS 42.

Ways to charter

Boats in Catalonia offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):

Bareboat (20 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.

Day charter (16 boats): a single day on the water, usually with crew.

Crewed (9 boats): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.

Skippered (3 boats): a professional skipper sails the boat with you, and you crew as much or as little as you like.

Flotilla (1 boat): you sail your own boat in a group, with a lead boat and crew on hand to help.

Cabin charter (1 boat): you book one cabin on a shared, crewed boat rather than the whole yacht.

Regatta (1 boat): boats prepared and entered for racing events.

What a week costs

These prices are for the boat for seven nights, taken from the 2027 offers we hold in November 2026.

In January, the cheapest month for most boats here, a well-priced boat costs about €2,400 a week and the middle of the fleet about €3,000.

In August, the dearest month, the middle of the fleet costs about €4,900 a week.

The cheapest tenth of boats here start from about €2,200 a week, and the top tenth from about €12,600.

Fuel, marina fees, the final clean and any skipper are usually extra on bareboat yachts; crewed boats include their crew. Each boat page shows what its operator includes and the live price for your dates.

Bases and start days

Boats start from Port d'Aiguadolç (10 boats), Club Nàutic Costa Brava (7 boats), Port Roses (5 boats), Port Ginesta (4 boats) and Port Olimpic (3 boats). Many boats can start on any day of the week, with Saturday the most common.

Getting there

Barcelona airport is 15 to 30 minutes from the city marinas. Girona airport serves the Costa Brava.
