01 · Overview
Yacht charter in Balearic Islands
The Balearics mix big-town nightlife with remote coves. Mallorca has the widest range of harbours, Ibiza and Formentera have the famous turquoise water of the Pityuses, and Menorca is quieter and greener. The fleet on our desk here leans towards catamarans and has a large crewed and skippered offer.
02 · The sailing grounds
The sailing grounds
On Mallorca, boats start in Palma and at Port d'Andratx in the south-west. On Ibiza they start at Sant Antoni, Ibiza town and Santa Eulària. From Ibiza, Formentera and the shallow strait at Espalmador are a short sail. From southern Mallorca you can reach the Cabrera national park, where moorings need a permit booked in advance. The islands protect their posidonia seagrass, so anchoring on it is forbidden: anchor on sand or use the buoys.
03 · Season and weather
Season and weather
May to October. Summer brings sea breezes and settled weather, with a busy August. The tramontana from the north can be strong on Mallorca's north coast and around Menorca.

Boats in Balearic Islands offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):
Bareboat (151 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.
Crewed (86 boats): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.
Skippered (39 boats): a professional skipper sails the boat with you, and you crew as much or as little as you like.
Day charter (27 boats): a single day on the water, usually with crew.
All-inclusive (2 boats): crew, meals and drinks are in one price.
Flotilla (1 boat): you sail your own boat in a group, with a lead boat and crew on hand to help.
Cabin charter (1 boat): you book one cabin on a shared, crewed boat rather than the whole yacht.
Regatta (1 boat): boats prepared and entered for racing events.
