01 · Overview

Yacht charter in Italy

Italy's coast and islands combine sailing with some of the best food and towns in the Mediterranean. The fleet on our desk here is split between sailing yachts and catamarans, with a large crewed offer and many gulets in Sicily.

How many charter boats are there in Italy?

We list about 1,500 boats in Italy today, from 209 charter companies. Most are sailing yachts. The number changes as operators add and sell boats.

When is the cheapest time to charter in Italy?

On the 2027 offers we hold, April is the cheapest month for a typical boat here, at about €3,100 a week for the middle of the fleet. August is the dearest, at about €5,100. Prices change as weeks book up, so check the boat pages for your dates.

Which licence do I need to charter in Italy?

For a bareboat charter, yes: the skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate. 86% of the boats here list a licence requirement. If nobody in your crew holds one, choose a crewed or skippered boat, or ask the operator about hiring a skipper.

How do I get to Italy?

Olbia, Cagliari, Palermo, Catania, Naples and Pisa airports serve the main sailing areas.
