How much will I heel under sail?

Reaching in a normal breeze, a monohull leans about 10 to 20 degrees. Running downwind it stays nearly upright, and only hard upwind in strong wind does it lean much more. On most charter days the lean is part of the fun.

Are sailboats hard for non-sailors?

No. Guests can sit in the cockpit or stay below while the skipper sails, and the angle feels normal after a day. Many crews end the week preferring it to a catamaran.

How big a sailboat suits four people?

Around 38 to 42 feet. At 38 feet you get two cabins and the saloon, which is snug; at 42 feet, three cabins and room to spare. Above 45 feet is more than four need, unless you want space.

Can a sailboat reach every bay a catamaran reaches?

Nearly all. A monohull draws more water than a cat, so a few very shallow bays are out of reach. Almost every anchorage works for both.
