Yacht charter in Sicily

01 · Overview

Yacht charter in Sicily

Sicily gives two very different weeks. From the north coast you sail to the Aeolian islands: Stromboli's live volcano, the sulphur baths of Vulcano and the capers of Salina. From the west you reach the Egadi islands, flat and clear-watered, with tuna-fishing history. Sicily also has one of the largest gulet and cabin-charter fleets on our desk.

How many charter boats are there in Sicily?

We list about 450 boats in Sicily today, from 75 charter companies. Most are sailing yachts. The number changes as operators add and sell boats.

When is the cheapest time to charter in Sicily?

On the 2027 offers we hold, January is the cheapest month for a typical boat here, at about €2,600 a week for the middle of the fleet. August is the dearest, at about €5,300. Prices change as weeks book up, so check the boat pages for your dates.

Which licence do I need to charter in Sicily?

For a bareboat charter, yes: the skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate. 82% of the boats here list a licence requirement. If nobody in your crew holds one, choose a crewed or skippered boat, or ask the operator about hiring a skipper.

How do I get to Sicily?

Palermo and Catania airports serve the island. Portorosa and Capo d'Orlando are about 1.5 to 2 hours by road from either.
