01 · Overview
Yacht charter in Martinique
Le Marin, on Martinique's south coast, is one of the busiest charter bases in the Caribbean. The island is French, with the euro, good provisioning and a direct link to Paris. Most boats on our desk here are catamarans, and many crews use Martinique as the start of a longer run down the Windward Islands.
02 · The sailing grounds
The sailing grounds
Martinique's own coast has good anchorages such as Sainte-Anne and the Anse d'Arlet bays. St Lucia, with the Pitons, is a day's sail south, and the Grenadines are further on. Dominica lies to the north. Crossing between islands means clearing customs in each country.
03 · Season and weather

Boats in Martinique offer these kinds of charter (a boat can offer more than one):
Bareboat (64 boats): you skipper the boat yourself. The skipper needs a licence the operator accepts, and usually a VHF radio certificate.
Crewed (7 boats): a skipper and crew come with the boat, often with a cook or host.
Skippered (5 boats): a professional skipper sails the boat with you, and you crew as much or as little as you like.
All-inclusive (1 boat): crew, meals and drinks are in one price.
